The workhorse / W-4

Generations of reliability.

Designed by Geoff Williamson, this Wilcam W-4 was owned by legendary IMAX filmmaker George Casey for three decades and worked across a long list of IMAX productions. It filmed the eruption of Mount St. Helens, the Serengeti, the Great Barrier Reef, grizzly bears in northern Alaska.

Later owned by George’s son Sean Casey, the camera captured extreme weather in 15/70, including footage shot from inside a tornado. Both Sean and the W-4 were frequently featured on the Discovery Channel series Storm Chasers.
